Get
involved: Voter registration campaign
WHEAT is working with local town officials to help
"get out the vote" for the next series of elections. We
believe that low-income residents must stand up and have their voices
count, and encouraging them to vote and participate in legislative
and community affairs is critical to their well being. We are non-partisan;
we will not encourage anyone to vote for any candidate, nor will
we let our own political views be known in the process. We just
want people to participate, and we will help communicate the importance
of voting, help register people to vote in town, state, and national
elections, and will inform them as much as we can about the candidates’
positions on areas of interest to low-income residents. Click
here and send a note to Ellen if you would like to join us in
our efforts.
