"Every Ounce Counts” Community Food Drive

February 19, 2004 - Help us reach our goal of 2 tons of food by March 22. Schools and organizations in the Wachusett area are joining together to help fight hunger in our community by participating in the first annual "Every Ounce Counts" community food drive.

Our goal is to collect at least 2 tons of food to be donated to the WHEAT Community Services food pantry in time for our Open House on March 22.

WHEAT regularly distributes hundreds of bags of food to residents of Berlin, Bolton, Clinton, Lancaster and Sterling.Most needed items include: tuna, peanut butter, jelly, rice, pasta sauce, canned vegetables, cereal, beans, juice, canned fruit, oatmeal, soup, rice, stew, pasta, toothpaste, deodorant, toothpaste and shampoo.
